Remembering Larry’s Legacy

Link House mourns the passing of one of the founders Larry Quinn

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Larry Quinn, one of the founders of Link House who first led the agency in the early 1970s. The Newburyport native and Salisbury resident who devoted his life to helping others passed away last week at the age of 83. Along with his lifelong commitment to supporting Link House he was honored as Man of the Year in 1979, counselor of the year, and received numerous other awards throughout his life.

Throughout his life Larry helped thousands of people at Link House and AA. “We are grateful for Larry’s tireless devotion to Link House. He helped lay the foundation beginning with assisting two to three men in a sober house almost 50 years ago to supporting Link House throughout the years. He was a beacon of light in the recovery world,” said Gary Gastman, Link House executive director. “Larry was very involved in Link House and would sit and talk to the men after meetings to share the Link House history and support the men in their recovery,” said Linda Corso, Link House program director.

We send our deep condolences to his wife Mary and his two daughters Teresa Quinn Bourque and Brenda Quinn, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren and thank them for sharing this wonderful man with us.
