Joan Guarente

Biography

Joan joined the Link House board in August 2025. For the past 30 years she has worked as a CPR First Aid instructor for the American Heart Association. She has retired from a career as a dance instructor on the North Shore of Boston where she taught for 35 years. She currently lives in Danvers and also enjoys her winters in Delray Beach Florida.

Joan acts as a trusted servant of the recovery community for the Bridge Club of Greater Lowell and the Crossroads Club of Delray Beach. Her goal is to improve the lives of others through their journey with mental health and recovery from substance use disorders. This has been her passion for the past three decades. In 2019, Joan returned to school and earned her Liberal Arts degree along with her recovery coach certificate. She is actively pursuing her LADC certificate.

Joan enjoys spending time with her first granddaughter Millie, reading, and practicing yoga.
